Mt. Pleasant aventurine

Quite an adventure this green aventurine. From an old rock pile in the bottom of a gully on New Year's Day 2007, a green quartzite that doesn't belong just outside Mt. Pleasant, Michigan., let alone Michigan at all. But there it was in the freezing rain on a muddy slippery slope. Green, like gold, is where you find it.
